Math Lab @ BPS

World would come to a standstill without the use of Maths. It is an indespensible part of our lives. Ispite of the subject being
so important, it accounts for the maximum number of failure and a high degree of mathsphobia; thus resulting in a poor attitude
for maths. The reason lies more with the way the subject is presented and less with the child's aptitude.

In order to facilitate the children to comprehend certain abstract concepts and to transform the so called tricky abstract and
impractical subject into an interesting learning experience; it is desirable that it should be brought to concrete operational
level where children can check and verify the validity of concept through activities and thus view maths close to life. This is
what we at Bhartiya Public School do in maths lab. The maths, lab in our school was inaugurated by our Chairman, Mr. Hariram
                            Ranwa on June 2012.

Our aim is to make match more pragmatic and interesting. Our emphasis si on process being more important than the product. It is
well equipped with basic models to verify various concepts and theorems in maths. The children work in groups and are provided
with small working units. They discover various concepts and facts by themselves thus giving them a feel of maths. The creativity
of the students is allowed free play. The are encouraged to find alternative solution and alternative methods. Teachers and students
                            work as joint investigating teams.

The lab is also quipped with computers to use technology for learning. Children see and prepare various power point presentation.
They link maths with other subjects thus developing interdisciplinary thinking
